Hips for Life 2.0
The evaluation and treatment of dysfunctions associated with the Hip Joints, Lumbar Spine, and the Pelvic Girdle.
Course Description
This comprehensive, patient-specific course examines the interaction of the Hips, Lumbar spine and Pelvic girdle. This includes the joint and muscle interactions and treatment integration.
The purpose of the pelvic girdle is to provide a stable base about which lower extremity and trunk movement can occur. The stability of this structure is provided by a combination of the correct positioning of the sacrum and innominates, in association with the muscles of the lumbar core, hip, pelvis and pelvic floor. This course provides an effective, timely evaluation system for these areas along with effective treatment strategies.
This course builds upon material presented in the Hips for Life 1.0, Multi-Region Core and Lumbar Spine, and Pelvic Health courses.
A hands-on course with tools that can be used in the clinic the following day.
Course Objectives:
CUpon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Apply a clinical and evidence-based manual therapy and exercise approach to the components of the Pelvic Girdle.
2. Understand the anatomy and function of the Pelvic Girdle and its interplays.
3. Understand the conditions of the Pelvic Girdle and their treatment.
4. Assess and identify the causes of Pelvic Girdle pain.
5. Perform an effective external Pelvic Floor examination.
6. Apply effective manual therapy techniques to treat the hip joint, sacrum, innominates and pelvic floor.
7. Prescribe effective, correctly dosed exercise for the muscles of the Pelvic Girdle.
Course Objectives are measured via pre and post-course quizzes
